They find the situation awkward, particularly when they have to give critical feedback. As a result, problems are left unaddressed, and they often get even worse. Hence, this course can help officers communicate performance feedback in a structured, organized way. The structure is simple and powerful, and is a confidence- booster for officers, especially when they need to talk about performance problems with subordinates.

This course is specifically designed to guide officers in holding onboard meetings. It also aims to teach participants how to identify the different types of meetings, how to prepare effectively for these meetings and how to participate actively in them. The course also explores how to make a follow-up after the meeting to ensure that key points are properly acted upon.

* Introduction:
Maximizing the potential of multi-skilled crews can only happen if the leadership style within an organization follows an effective management philosophy and approach, which may be quite different from those applied 30 or 40 years ago.
A small group of multi-skilled crew will only function effectively, if they are allowed the freedom and control over their own efforts, to apply their expertise, skills and techniques in accomplishing their own individual tasks. Running a modern ship is no longer just a question of following orders from superiors, because subordinates must be capable of and often given the authority to act on their own initiative.
The competence of the team leader is often tested under pressure, where he needs to take responsibility over issues and concerns, but at the same time, he or she, needs to ensure the dynamism of the whole team. This CBT module is to help develop the required skills to effectively tackle these leadership issues.

can lead to health problems.

Seagull together with TI Marine Consulting, and Aksel Oddvar Olsen, has developed a CBT module covering insulation methods and materials. * Introduction:
Before vapor control systems were introduced, vapor from barge tanks vented directly into the air, releasing harmful emissions into the atmosphere. Under the jurisdiction of the US Coast Guard, safety regulations are now in place to control marine vapor emissions in the United States. To assist operators in better understanding the regulatory requirements, Seagull has developed a CBT that addresses the requirements and rationale for vapor control systems and identifies the components of a typical system. The CBT also provides guidance on how to prepare for and carry out a vapour controlled cargo transfer and respond to emergency situations.
